It is time to get in touch with reality.
The reality of the situation is, there is a GLOBAL health pandemic affecting each and every one of us in some way or form.
It is critical for each of you to adhere to the guidelines stipulated by your Presidents and be mindful of others.
I don’t need to go through the lists of do’s/donts and rules of the lockdowns but what I do want to do is help keep you motivated, positive and educate you with what is in my scope of professionalism.
Today I would like to tell you why Personal Training is ESSENTIAL during this time:
Personal Training may not necessarily save you money, BUT it could however work out to be FREE.
When dealing with a qualified fitness professional, we look at your life as a whole. We need to take into account your profession, eating habits, training history, injury history and obviously your goals. In order for you to become a fitter, stronger, healthier and a more aesthetically pleasing individual we have to provide a holistic approach.
This approach consists of:
- Nutrtion
- Fitness level
- Strength level
- Mobility
- Time availability
- Budget
Now this is where the magic happens. Pay attention (its free at this point haha)
Go have a look through your cupboard and calculate all the luxuries like alcohol, crisps, chocolates, sweets, non-essential baking ingredients and cigarettes to name a few. Im going to insert a table to put thing into perspective for you.
Meal | Luxury Living | Healthy Living | Amount Saved |
Breakfast | Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Toast, Tomato, Beans, Onion. Cost per person is approximately R50 | Oats, cinnamon, apple. Cost per person approximately R8 | R42 per person |
Snack | Sweets, crisps, chocolate etc. Cost per person approximately R50 | Fruit, nuts, biltong ect. Cost per person approximately R25 | R25 per person |
Lunch | Hamburgers, chips ect. Cost per person approximately R45 | Chicken/tuna salad. Cost per person approximately R30 | R15 per person |
Snack | Cupcakes, cake, biscuits and tea/coffee. Cost per person approximately R30 | Fruit, nuts, biltong ect. Cost per person approximately R25 | R5 per person |
Dinner | Meat and Veg. Cost per person approximately R45 | Meat and Veg. Cost per person approximately R45 | R0 per person |
After dinner drinks | 6 Pack of beer. Cost per person approximately R60 | Water. Cost per person approximately R0 | R60 per person |
TOTAL | Approximately R280 per person | Approximately R133.00 Per person | Approximately R147 per person |
Now, this is obviously provided the person follows normal eating patterns. Take that R147 and multiply it by 31 and you are sitting at approximately R4500.00 per month on things you do not NEED to consume. Online training is more affordable then this.
Its doesn’t matter which way you manipulate the table, the expenses will still be in and around those amounts. The questions is, what do you have to show for it? Increased waistline, decrease bank account and expensive excretions.
Now by taking that money and paying a personal trainer what are you getting?
- A fitness regime tailored to your goals
- A eating plan tailored to your goals and budget
- Increased mobility
- Someone to report to (accountability)
- HEALTH (improved health via movement and clean eating)
- Knowledge (learning about the lifestyle, a healthier more beneficial one)
The fact is when you look good, you feel good, you do good!
When going through a worldwide health pandemic you need be doing what you can in order to ensure your survival. This Covid-19 virus is killing people with underlying health conditions. So do what you can to improve your health status, if you aren’t sure how to do this then contact a professional for help (you are spending the money anyway and its damaging you). You, at the bare minimum will at least walk away more knowledgeable.
Its time to invest in yourself, something your future self will thank you for!!!
